Academic Citizenship/Service
I am dedicated to contributing to the scholarly vigor of the academy through service and citizenship. In my time as a professor, I have found that providing service is one of the most rewarding roles that I fulfill. I enjoy the collaboration with colleagues as we pursue a common goal focused on the mission of the university and the conceptual framework of the school of education. In the future, I plan to continue my contributions through my campus committee work, increased involvement at higher levels in my professional associations, scholarly and community projects, and my work with students.
Committee Work:
As a faculty member, I have participated in a number of service activities, including serving as a member of four committees of the Center and one for the School. This year I actively sought to pursue leadership roles on each of these committees, but either I ended up not getting voted onto them or the ones that I am on have standing committee chairs (chair and vice chair).

Community Service:
I am a Board member for The Davinci Institute, Magnolia Alliance for Change, and KINGS Leadership & Development Institute. In addition, I am a peer reviewer for the Journal of African American Males in Education.
